The Heart in U is an interactive work which reveals layered meanings through rotation and alignment. In one orientation, the panels spell LOVU, a shorthand expression of “love you,” while flipped upside down they read NAOI, the Greek term for the innermost sanctuary of a temple. When all four panels are turned to a 45-degree angle, a heart emerges in the negative space between them. Together, these transformations reveal the work’s core message: at its deepest center—the naoi—is love itself.
